Selecting Procedure Templates

When creating or updating a patient case, you can select a procedure template from the dropdown list on the right-hand panel. Each template represents a commonly performed surgical procedures.

Selecting a procedure template automatically fills in the key billing details needed for anaesthetic invoicing.

Item Numbers

A predefined set of Medicare and Health Fund item numbers associated with that procedure. These are used to for Informed Financial Consent.

Estimated Time

Each procedure includes an estimated anaesthetic time.
This helps calculate the expected anaesthetic duration for quoting.

Estimated Rebate

The system shows the estimated rebate from Medicare and/or the Health Fund based on current schedule.

Calculated Fee

The total fee is automatically calculated using pre-defined billing rules.
These rules consider:

• Anaesthetic time
• Base unit value
• Any additional modifiers (ASA level, after-hours, emergency, etc.)
• Fund agreements or gap cover rules
• Anaesthetist's Billing Rules
